Remitly Global has partnered with Etsy to become an additional payment provider for Etsy Payments in 15 countries, extending its payments infrastructure beyond consumer remittances and into marketplace payouts for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Starting this fall, new international sellers opening Etsy shops in select markets will be able to choose Remitly as their payout provider during onboarding. The move gives sellers another option for receiving earnings through local bank accounts and mobile wallets, while leveraging Remitly’s global payments network.

The partnership represents a strategic step for Remitly as it broadens its focus from serving individual remittance customers to supporting payment flows for small and medium-sized businesses. Through the integration, Etsy sellers will be able to hold earnings in US dollars and convert funds into local currencies when needed, providing greater flexibility in managing cross-border income.

For Etsy, the addition of Remitly strengthens its payments ecosystem by offering sellers more payout options and improved access to local financial services. The platform is designed to support reliable and timely payments for the marketplace’s global community of creators and entrepreneurs.

The partnership highlights the growing convergence of marketplace commerce and embedded payment infrastructure. As digital marketplaces expand internationally, demand is increasing for payout solutions that can support multiple currencies, local payment methods, and cross-border transactions through a seamless user experience.

Ankur Tiwari, VP and General Manager of Remitly Business, said, “Etsy is Remitly’s first marketplace partner and a model for what’s ahead: taking the payment network that millions of receivers already trust and putting it to work for businesses.”

The collaboration reflects a broader industry trend in which FinTech providers are diversifying beyond their traditional offerings and targeting the fast-growing market for marketplace, merchant, and SME payment solutions.
