Why it Matters: By acquiring Finastra’s cash management suite, Tech Mahindra gains proven products, banking expertise and an established customer base in a market where financial institutions are increasingly prioritising liquidity management, treasury automation and real-time cash visibility. The acquisition also signals rising demand for integrated banking platforms that help banks modernise operations while reducing complexity.

Tech Mahindra has acquired Finastra’s Cash Management product suite, comprising Fusion Cash Management (FCM), Fusion Virtual Accounts (FVA) and Fusion Liquidity Management (FLM), in a move aimed at strengthening its banking technology portfolio and expanding its transaction banking capabilities.

The acquisition includes the intellectual property associated with the three products, along with capabilities spanning CashPlus, Global CashPlus, APIs, payables, receivables, balance and transaction reporting, liquidity management, cash-flow forecasting and virtual accounts.

Under Tech Mahindra’s ownership, the cash management suite will become part of the company’s Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) solutions portfolio. The company said it plans to continue investing in the platform while ensuring continuity for existing customers through ongoing services, platform access and customer support. Experienced product engineering and customer success teams will also transition to Tech Mahindra as part of the deal.

The acquisition comes as corporate and institutional banks increasingly seek solutions that improve real-time cash visibility, liquidity optimisation, automated payables and receivables, compliance and API-driven treasury connectivity.

Anil Venuturupalli, SVP, Banking Group & Chief Product Officer, Financial Services at Tech Mahindra, said, “The acquisition of Finastra’s Cash Management product suite strengthens our banking products portfolio and expands our ability to support financial institutions across critical cash and liquidity management needs.”

Tech Mahindra said the deal combines ownership of established banking software products, a global customer base, specialised product expertise and the company’s existing Finastra Centre of Excellence. Together, these capabilities are expected to support customer continuity while creating a stronger foundation for future product-led growth in transaction banking.

Ruchir Purwar, Head of Partnerships & Cross-Selling Sales at Finastra, said, “Tech Mahindra brings deep banking and technology expertise and already knows our business well. We’re confident they are well positioned to take these solutions forward and continue supporting customers as their needs evolve.”

The acquisition further strengthens Tech Mahindra’s Banking Products portfolio and expands its presence across cash management, liquidity management, virtual accounts, supply chain finance, cash-flow forecasting and adjacent transaction banking segments.
