Axis Finance launches Drishti to automate credit decisioning
By Milan Rojan
Axis Finance has launched Drishti, an in-house Business Rules Engine (BRE), to automate credit decisioning and strengthen data-led underwriting across its retail and MSME lending businesses.
The platform has initially been deployed for Personal Loans, Business Loans, Loan Against Property and Disha Home Loans. Developed as a configurable digital platform, Drishti has combined underwriting workflows with data-driven insights and statistical scorecards to support faster and more consistent credit assessments.
Axis Finance said the platform has enabled real-time decisioning, dynamic policy implementation and integration with multiple data sources, including alternative data. It has supported both straight-through processing (STP) and assisted lending journeys, with the aim of improving turnaround times, operational efficiency and governance in lending decisions.
The launch has aligned with the company’s ‘Grow the Good’ strategy to strengthen its digital lending capabilities and enhance the customer borrowing experience. Axis Finance said the initiative has standardised credit evaluation while reinforcing disciplined risk management and scalable lending operations.
Sai Giridhar, MD & CEO of Axis Finance, said: “With the launch of Axis Finance Drishti, we are strengthening our ability to deliver faster, more consistent credit decisions by embedding intelligence, advanced analytics and automated credit workflows into our core decisioning frameworks, while maintaining strong governance and risk discipline.”
The company added that Drishti has formed part of its broader technology investment strategy. Over the past year, Axis Finance has introduced ABC Scorecards to improve objectivity in credit assessments and an AI-assisted quality monitoring framework for collections. The company said these initiatives have supported fairer customer interactions while enhancing operational efficiency.
The latest rollout has reflected the growing use of automation, analytics and alternative data by non-banking financial companies to streamline lending processes and improve credit risk management.
