Mastercard, One GlobalWhy it matters: By integrating payment capabilities into ERP and procurement systems, enterprises can automate payment workflows, improve working capital management and reduce operational friction. The inclusion of virtual cards, real-time reconciliation and Agentic AI-driven processes also reflects how businesses are increasingly leveraging fintech innovations to modernise treasury, procurement and supplier management operations.

Tech Mahindra has partnered with Mastercard to help enterprises modernise B2B payments by embedding virtual card and payment capabilities directly into enterprise resource planning (ERP) and procurement platforms.

The collaboration aims to simplify commercial payment processes by integrating secure payment functionality into existing business workflows, enabling organisations to optimise working capital, strengthen spend controls, accelerate payment execution and reconciliation, and improve supplier onboarding without replacing their current technology systems.

By combining Tech Mahindra’s enterprise transformation expertise with Mastercard’s embedded payment capabilities and virtual card ecosystem, the partners plan to help corporations incorporate payment services directly into procurement, finance and treasury operations.

Roshan Shetty, BFSI & Public Sector Head, Americas at Tech Mahindra, said, “Together with Mastercard, we are bringing payments directly into the flow of procurement and finance. This partnership will also enable enterprises to leverage agentic-AI workflows to optimise and modernise at their own pace while creating a faster and more connected experience for their suppliers.”

The solution will integrate with leading ERP systems as well as source-to-pay and procure-to-pay platforms, enabling businesses to automate transactions, gain greater visibility into financial operations and reduce manual processes across accounts payable, procurement and supplier management functions.

The companies said the partnership will help enterprises transition from fragmented payment processes to a more integrated embedded finance model while strengthening supplier relationships, increasing automation and enhancing security, fraud prevention and compliance capabilities.

Businesses are facing increasing challenges from procurement complexity, supply-chain disruptions, working capital pressures and manual approval processes. Traditional B2B payment systems often create inefficiencies in supplier onboarding, payment reconciliation and transaction visibility.

To address these issues, Tech Mahindra and Mastercard will provide API-led integrations, payment automation, real-time reconciliation tools, fraud management capabilities and enhanced payment controls within existing enterprise software environments.

Rebecca Meeker, SVP of B2B Platforms and Embedded Finance at Mastercard, said, “Embedding payments directly into the platforms enterprises use every day can transform commercial payments from a manual process into an integrated, intelligent part of the procurement and finance workflow. Our partnership with Tech Mahindra brings together payments and enterprise transformation expertise to help organisations automate payment processes, improve visibility and control, and optimise working capital, while creating more efficient, connected experiences for their suppliers.”

Unlike standalone payment solutions, the offering is designed to integrate financial services directly into business processes, helping organisations align payment modernisation with broader ERP and digital transformation initiatives.
