Hyderabad-based FinTech infrastructure provider VIYONA Fintech has received approval from the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) to operate as a Customer Operating Unit (COU), enabling the company to expand its digital bill payment capabilities for banks, financial institutions, enterprises and government organisations.

Ravindranath Yarlagadda, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of VIYONA Fintech, said: “Digital payments have become an integral part of everyday life, and the demand for scalable, interoperable financial infrastructure continues to grow.”

The certification has enabled VIYONA to offer BBPS-powered bill payment services across multiple categories, including electricity, water, gas, broadband, mobile recharges, DTH subscriptions, insurance premiums, loan EMIs, education fees and other approved bill payments. The approval has strengthened the company’s position as a payments infrastructure provider supporting secure and interoperable digital payment services.

The milestone has allowed banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), FinTech firms, enterprises and government organisations to integrate BBPS-enabled bill payment services through VIYONA’s platform. Secure payment capabilities have been delivered to support customers across a broad range of recurring payment use cases.

He added: “With the BBPS COU certification, we are expanding our ability to help banks, fintechs, enterprises, and billers deliver seamless bill payment experiences at scale.”

The latest approval has added to VIYONA’s portfolio of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) certifications, which has included UPI Switch (Issuer and Acquirer), IMPS, Banking Connect, BOU, eKYC Setu and BBPS COU. The expanded certification portfolio has reinforced the company’s full-stack payments infrastructure capabilities for banks, billers and financial institutions.

As its platform has continued to evolve, VIYONA has focused on connecting banks, businesses, merchants and agricultural stakeholders, while broader access to digital financial services across India has been supported through its expanding payments ecosystem.
