Australian digital asset firm Zerocap has expanded its institutional crypto and foreign exchange trading capabilities through an integration with currency technology provider Integral.

The Melbourne-based firm has adopted Integral Digital to broaden access to liquidity across digital assets and fiat currency markets as institutional demand for cryptocurrency trading has grown across the Asia-Pacific region.

Harpal Sandhu, chief executive officer at Integral, said: “We’re proud to support Zerocap in enabling their clients to seamlessly access liquidity and manage risk with confidence, helping them make the most of opportunities within digital asset markets.”

Integral Digital has provided Zerocap with connectivity to a network of liquidity providers through a single platform. Its pricing engine has also enabled the creation of synthetic currency pairs, allowing Zerocap to provide real-time cross-currency pricing and support fiat currency conversions alongside digital asset trading.

The integration has been configured to meet Zerocap’s liquidity requirements, with Integral working with the firm to establish customised liquidity pools.

Integral Digital has further consolidated portfolio exposure, margin information and risk analytics within a single trading interface. The platform has included automated risk controls designed to support institutional trading workflows, allowing clients to monitor and manage exposure as digital asset markets have remained highly volatile.

Jon de Wet, chief investment officer at Zerocap, has said the firm’s institutional clients have increasingly expected the reliability and risk controls associated with traditional financial markets while accessing crypto markets.

Zerocap has been operating in Australia since 2017 and has served institutions and sophisticated investors. The latest integration has expanded its trading infrastructure as the firm has sought to scale its institutional offering across global markets.

The development has also highlighted the continued convergence of traditional foreign exchange infrastructure and digital asset trading technology as institutional participation in cryptocurrency markets has increased.
