Juspay expands partnership with Wego to power payments across MENA
By Divya Shah
Juspay, a global payments technology company, has expanded its partnership with online travel marketplace Wego to support the company’s growth across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region through enhanced payment orchestration and local payment acceptance capabilities.
As Wego enters new markets across the region, Juspay will enable the travel platform to integrate local payment service providers (PSPs), acquirers, banks, and local payment methods through a single orchestration layer, helping travellers complete transactions using familiar payment options.
The expanded partnership is designed to help Wego onboard new payment partners more efficiently, broaden payment acceptance, and tailor checkout experiences to local market requirements without complex individual integrations.
Alexandre Morin, Director, Payments, Risk & Fintech at Wego, said,“The partnership enables the company to address varying payment behaviours across markets while maintaining a seamless customer experience.”
Through Juspay’s payment orchestration platform, Wego gains access to a network of more than 300 PSPs and acquirers globally, providing greater flexibility in introducing and managing payment methods across different markets.
The collaboration also aims to improve payment performance through features such as intelligent transaction routing, 3D Secure optimisation, automated retries, and unified error mapping. These capabilities help increase authorisation rates, recover eligible failed transactions, and provide greater visibility into payment processing issues.
Nakul Kothari, Head of APAC & Middle East at Juspay, said, “The partnership combines Wego’s regional travel expertise with Juspay’s payment orchestration technology to support local payment preferences while ensuring a consistent checkout experience as the business expands.
Juspay’s infrastructure currently processes more than 300 million transactions daily and supports over $1tn in annualised total payment volume. The company said the partnership will continue to evolve as both firms explore additional payment solutions tailored to Wego’s operational and customer requirements.
With digital payments and localisation becoming increasingly important in travel commerce, the expanded collaboration highlights the growing role of payment orchestration platforms in helping merchants manage multiple payment providers, improve conversion rates, and scale across diverse markets.
