UK-based tokenisation infrastructure provider Ctrl Alt Technologies has secured Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) authorisation from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), enabling the company to provide regulated investment services and expand its tokenisation offering across Ireland and the European Economic Area (EEA).

Matt Ong, Founder and Group CEO, Ctrl Alt, said: “Ireland and the wider European Union are central to our plans for tokenisation. This authorisation positions us to support growing adoption across Ireland and the EEA.”

The licence has allowed Ctrl Alt to conduct regulated securities business in Ireland while using MiFID passporting rights to offer services across the EEA. The company said the authorisation has strengthened its ability to serve financial institutions, asset managers and capital allocators seeking regulated tokenised investment products.

Jordan McMullen, CEO, Ireland, Ctrl Alt, said: “The Irish authorisation opens the EEA to us and strengthens our regulatory position as we continue to scale across Europe.”

Ctrl Alt has positioned the licence as part of its multi-jurisdictional regulatory strategy, building on direct authorisation from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) earlier this year and a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) licence issued by Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) in 2025.

The company has focused on enabling the tokenisation of traditional assets through blockchain infrastructure, supporting the issuance and management of tokenised securities within regulated markets.

Ctrl Alt said the authorisation has also reflected increasing regulatory engagement with tokenisation and distributed ledger technology (DLT) in Ireland. t.

With regulatory approvals now established in Ireland, the UK and the UAE, Ctrl Alt said it has strengthened its position to support institutional adoption of tokenised financial products while operating within established regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
