Cashflows invests in Tap & Go to expand merchant payments
By Milan Rojan
UK payments platform Cashflows has made a strategic investment in card payments specialist Tap & Go, as the companies have sought to expand their commercial partnership and broaden payment services for merchants.
The investment has supported Tap & Go’s plans to expand its product offering across additional sectors, while Cashflows has provided infrastructure and transaction settlement services for the company’s card payment terminals since 2025.
Anna McDonald, Managing Director at Tap & Go, has said the company has aimed to build a broader payments proposition that can support customers as their businesses grow. She has also highlighted the shared approach of the two companies as challengers within the payments market.
Tap & Go has planned to extend its proposition beyond card payments into ecommerce, virtual payments and multi-site solutions. The company has also targeted new verticals including universities, stadiums, dentistry, hotels, builders’ merchants and the motor sector.
Cashflows has said the investment will allow the two businesses to work more closely on Tap & Go’s product portfolio while supporting its growth strategy. Tap & Go has also planned to invest in its workforce, increase brand awareness and attract new customers.
The partnership has brought together two female-led payments businesses. Hannah Fitzsimons, CEO, Cashflows, has said the company has invested because it has believed in Tap & Go’s growth plans and has seen an opportunity to combine its payments expertise with the challenger’s customer-focused approach.
Cashflows has positioned the investment as part of a wider growth strategy, with the company continuing to explore additional strategic investment opportunities.
The move has reflected continued activity among payments providers seeking to expand merchant services through partnerships, broader product portfolios and investment in specialised payment technology.
