bolttech appoints new CEOs for APAC and North America businesses
By Divya Shah
Global InsurTech bolttech has announced a series of leadership appointments across its Asia-Pacific and North American operations, as the company looks to strengthen its regional leadership structure and support continued business growth.
Emma Butler has been appointed CEO, APAC, succeeding Philip Weiner, who will now take on the role of CEO, North America. Butler will also join bolttech’s Group Executive Committee with immediate effect.
The leadership changes come as bolttech expands its presence across key insurance markets and seeks to accelerate growth in both regions. In North America, Weiner succeeds Jon Walheim, who is transitioning out of the CEO role and will remain with the company as an advisor to the Group CEO during the leadership handover.
Butler brings more than two decades of experience spanning insurance, banking and retail sectors across Asia and Europe. She currently serves as Regional General Manager for Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, where she has been responsible for business growth, strategic partnerships and regional team development.
Prior to joining bolttech, Butler was part of AmTrust Mobile Solutions Asia, which was later acquired and integrated into the InsurTech company. Her experience across multiple markets is expected to support bolttech’s continued expansion and insurance distribution initiatives throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Weiner, a founding member of bolttech’s executive team, has held several senior leadership positions within the organisation, including Group Chief Data Officer, Chief Commercial Officer for Asia & Europe, and most recently CEO, APAC. An actuary by training, he brings more than 20 years of experience across insurance, data, technology and AI.
Before joining bolttech, Weiner held leadership roles at FWD Insurance and Manulife, overseeing product development, pricing and commercial growth strategies.
Rob Schimek, Group CEO, bolttech, said, “This is a very exciting time for bolttech. Philip and Emma are highly respected leaders with strong track records and a deep understanding of our business, markets and partners. Their appointments provide continuity and position us well as we continue executing our long-term growth strategy.”
The appointments are expected to provide continuity across bolttech’s regional businesses while supporting the company’s growth ambitions in two of its most strategically important markets.
