ABN AMRO launches new partnership with HomeQgo and Techstars

ABN AMROABN AMRO has collaborated with sustainability expert HomeQgo, in a bid to provide customers with a personal, step-by-step plan for making homes sustainable. Customers using its mortgage adviser will be offered with a fully integrated HomeQgo’s sustainability advice. The Bank stated that the collaboration would simplify the mortgage process, from orientation to taking out a mortgage, which also covers the sustainability measures.

The Bank stated in a press release, “More than 80% of ABN AMRO’s mortgage advisers have obtained the Adviseur Duurzaam Wonen (Sustainable Home Adviser) certificate, giving them the expertise they need to discuss this step-by-step plan with their clients. It expects to offer 100,000 of these plans to its clients in the next few years.”

The Bank is currently aiming to offer intermediaries with sustainability advice for their clients.

ABN AMRO, today, announced a three-year partnership with investment platform Techstars to identify and support innovative startups that have the potential to transform financial services for businesses and consumers. The Bank intends to accelerate digitalisation and innovation, thus delivering on its strategy.

The first year of the ABN AMRO & Techstars Accelerator will kick off in Amsterdam in early 2021.

Edwin van Bommel, Chief Innovation Officer at the Bank, said, “Working with startups is crucial for ABN AMRO’s innovation journey. Our aim is to be at the forefront of new technology in relevant ecosystems related to financial services, helping startups to become leaders in their field while building out our own leading position in innovation as well. We believe combining pioneering products and services developed by startups with the expertise and scale of ABN AMRO will accelerate both of our dreams and ambitions.”
