Barclays hires former JP Morgan-exec Manuel Esteve as Head of Equity Capital Markets

Barclays Investment Bank has announced the appointment of Manuel Esteve as the Head of Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Continental Europe. The new ECM head will be based in London and report to EMEA ECM Head, Tom Johnson. Esteve will assume the new position from Septemeber 1st 2020.
Tom Johnson, Barclays Head of Equity Capital Markets EMEA, commented, “Our European ECM franchise continues to grow strongly, and Manuel’s experience and impressive track record will help accelerate this growth, with a focus on clients in Continental Europe.”
Previously, Esteve spent around 2 decades at JP Morgan. He was responsible for a number of Equity Capital Market (ECM) leadership roles in both origination and syndicate. Esteve has deal experience across multiple jurisdictions in EMEA, having led transactions for clients such as Nexi, Cellnex, Amadeus, and Wizz Air. He has also led JP Morgan’s ECM team while working on the Barclays Africa sell-down in 2016-17.

Recently, Barclays launched a new digital advice service, ‘Barclays Plan & Invest’, to create customised investment plans for customers and manage the investments on their behalf.
