Why it Matters: The proposed collaboration between Diebold Nixdorf and Euronet combines cash recycling, transaction processing and ATM operations expertise, potentially enabling banks to modernise self-service channels, improve efficiency and expand the range of services offered through ATM networks.

Diebold Nixdorf and Euronet Worldwide have collaborated to deliver integrated ATM outsourcing solutions to financial institutions and help banks modernise their self-service banking networks.

The partnership will combine Diebold Nixdorf’s cash recycling ATMs, banking software and global field service capabilities with Euronet’s Ren payments processing platform, back-office infrastructure and ATM operations expertise.

Together, the companies aim to help financial institutions improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, simplify ATM management and unlock new revenue opportunities by enabling a broader range of financial services through ATM channels.

Octavio Marquez, President and Chief Executive Officer of Diebold Nixdorf, said, “By combining Diebold Nixdorf’s cash recycling technology and global field services with Euronet’s operating and transaction capabilities, we can help banks lower costs while expanding the financial services available to their customers. This collaboration would build on our branch automation strategy and open new opportunities for growth for our customers.”

The collaboration will focus on three key areas: improving operating efficiency through cash recycling technology and integrated network management; expanding transaction and revenue opportunities through Euronet’s payments ecosystem; and simplifying ATM operations with integrated outsourcing services, centralised monitoring and coordinated service delivery.

As banks continue to optimise branch networks and increase reliance on self-service channels, the partnership is designed to support more efficient cash management while enhancing the availability and functionality of ATM services.

By combining these capabilities with Euronet’s transaction processing and network management expertise, the partners expect to expand the range of services available through ATM networks and create additional value for banks and consumers.

Euronet brings more than three decades of experience in ATM outsourcing and operates one of the world’s largest independent ATM networks. Its capabilities include transaction processing, cash management, ATM monitoring, service coordination, reporting and security management.

Diebold Nixdorf contributes advanced cash recycling technology, banking software and a global field service organisation with extensive experience in self-service banking deployments.

Michael J. Brown, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Euronet Worldwide, said, “ATM outsourcing has been at the heart of Euronet’s business for more than 30 years. Our global network, Ren processing platform and integrated ATM operations give us the scale and experience to run complex ATM estates efficiently and reliably. Combined with Diebold Nixdorf’s cash recycling ATMs and global field services, we can help financial institutions simplify operations, improve efficiency and offer a broader range of transactions at the ATM.”

The companies have signed a non-binding letter of intent and said any formal collaboration remains subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements. If finalised, the partnership will develop integrated service offerings that leverage both firms’ infrastructure, technology and customer relationships.
