Provident Bank is live with Alkami Technology‘s MANTL Business Account Opening and Retail Account Opening across its 135-branch network, as the US lender seeks to streamline customer onboarding and unify its digital and in-branch banking experiences.

The deployment enables Provident Bank to use a single account-opening platform across both physical and digital channels, replacing separate systems and creating a more consistent experience for customers and employees.

More than 800 bank employees are now using MANTL to open retail and business accounts both online and in branch locations.

The $25 billion-plus bank said the initiative is designed to simplify account opening workflows, improve operational efficiency and give frontline teams more time to focus on customer engagement and relationship building.

Through the platform, Provident Bank supports a broad range of retail and business account types, including minor accounts and individual retirement accounts (IRAs) that can be opened online or in branches. Branch staff can also manage more complex products such as trust accounts, fiduciary accounts, estate accounts and escrow accounts through the same system.

Scott Hurlbert, Senior Vice President and Digital Channels Director at Provident Bank, said the bank adopted a unified platform strategy to create a simpler and more consistent experience for customers and employees while enhancing its competitive position.

The implementation included process redesign, employee training and change management initiatives alongside the technology rollout.

Provident Bank worked with MANTL to streamline existing onboarding processes and adopt standardised workflows rather than replicating legacy systems on a new platform.

Provident Bank completed the MANTL implementation alongside a core banking system conversion, combining two major transformation projects aimed at enhancing customer experience and expanding access to modern banking services.

The launch comes amid growing investment in branch-based account opening technology across the US banking sector.
