Amazon has introduced Affirm‘s instalment payment options for customers in the UK, giving shoppers a new way to spread the cost of purchases across millions of products available on Amazon.co.uk.

The new offering allows eligible customers to select Affirm at checkout and receive an instant financing decision. Approved customers can choose between a 0% Pay-in-3 plan, which splits purchases into three interest-free monthly payments, or longer-term financing options with repayment periods of up to 48 months and a representative fixed APR of 22%.

The financing options are available on purchases of £50 or more and do not include late fees or hidden charges. Customers can manage their repayment schedules through the Affirm app or website, make additional payments, or settle their balance early without incurring penalties.

Vassil Gedov, General Manager of Payment Products at Amazon EU, said the partnership is aimed at giving customers greater flexibility and control over how they pay for purchases while maintaining a seamless checkout experience.

The rollout marks an expansion of flexible payment options on Amazon.co.uk and will be introduced progressively to eligible customers over the coming weeks.

The financing service will be available across most product categories, although certain items, including gift cards, groceries, out-of-stock products and selected digital content such as e-books, music, videos, apps and game downloads, are excluded.

Ruth Spratt, UK Country Manager at Affirm, said the solution provides customers with clear payment terms upfront and enables them to choose a repayment plan that suits their needs without worrying about late payment charges.

Amazon said its existing customer protection policies will continue to apply regardless of the payment method used. Purchases made directly from Amazon remain covered by the company’s return and refund policies, while transactions with third-party sellers are protected under Amazon’s A-to-Z Guarantee.

In addition, purchases above £100 made using the new financing options are eligible for protection under Section 75 of the UK’s Consumer Credit Act, providing customers with additional safeguards when shopping online.
