FintechOS partners with Saffron mortgage for digitisation platform
By Divya Shah
FintechOS, an agentic platform for unified product operations, has partnered with Saffron Building Society to deploy a full end-to-end mortgage origination platform aimed at digitising and streamlining the lender’s mortgage journey.
The deployment will support the entire lending lifecycle, covering broker registration and management, decision in principle (DIP), mortgage applications, underwriting, offers and completions across Saffron’s product portfolio.
The platform will also integrate with the building society’s existing Finova servicing system.
Colin Field, CEO of Saffron Building Society, said, “This partnership is an important step in Saffron’s wider transformation. We chose FintechOS because its flexible, modular platform will integrate with our existing technology, give our teams greater control over product and journey changes, and provide a scalable foundation through which we can responsibly harness AI to support colleagues, enhance decision-making, and deliver simpler, more personalised experiences for members and brokers.”
Built on the FintechOS Agentic Platform for Unified Product Operations, the solution combines automated decisioning, AI-enabled underwriting workflows, a business rules engine and a product factory designed to accelerate mortgage product development.
Supported by the company’s Dex AI Copilot, the platform enables teams to create, modify and launch mortgage products and policy changes more quickly.
The platform provides a unified view of applications from initial enquiry through to completion. Brokers will benefit from a fully digital process, including real-time DIP decisions, straight-through processing for standard applications and enhanced visibility throughout the mortgage journey.
For members, the deployment aims to shorten the time between application and mortgage offer, reduce documentation requirements and improve the overall lending experience. The configuration-based platform will also allow Saffron to respond more quickly to changing market conditions and lending criteria.
FintechOS was selected for its ability to sit above the lender’s existing core infrastructure without requiring a replacement of underlying systems.
Teo Blidarus, CEO and Founder of FintechOS, said, “Saffron is investing ahead of growth, putting the foundations in place now so it can scale lending, strengthen broker relationships, and bring new products and criteria changes to market in weeks rather than months.”
The move comes as intermediary channels continue to dominate the UK mortgage market. According to the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association, more than 89% of UK mortgages are arranged through brokers, a figure expected to exceed 90% by 2026. As a result, lenders are increasingly focused on delivering efficient and seamless broker experiences to remain competitive.
