Bir has partnered with Azerbaijan’s Public Catering and Gastronomy Association (İİQA) and restaurant technology company Clopos to digitise ordering, payments and tipping across the country’s hospitality sector.

The partnership has been established under a Memorandum of Understanding and has aimed to connect ordering and payments within a single digital customer journey.

Jalal Orujov, CEO of Payments at Bir, said: “By bringing ordering, payments and tipping into one connected digital journey, we are making the experience easier for customers while helping businesses serve them more efficiently.”

The solution has combined Bir’s payments infrastructure with Clopos’ technology, enabling customers to scan a QR code at their table to access menus, place orders, make payments and leave digital tips.

Customers have been able to pay through Bir Pay or other available payment methods, while hospitality businesses have gained access to an integrated system designed to simplify service processes. The companies have said the solution has been intended to improve convenience for customers and operational efficiency for restaurants and other hospitality businesses.

Bir has positioned the initiative as part of its broader strategy to expand its ecosystem beyond individual financial products and connect consumers, businesses and everyday services through digital infrastructure.

The company has reported more than 5 million users across its ecosystem and has continued expanding its financial services offering. Earlier in 2026, Bir has launched international money transfers from Azerbaijan to more than 140 countries and territories through a partnership with Paysend.

Bir has also launched an AI-powered e-wallet assistant within its m10 digital wallet app, as it has continued expanding its use of digital payments and artificial intelligence across Azerbaijan’s financial services sector.
