Thunes has expanded its stablecoin capabilities by enabling eligible members of its Direct Global Network to use the euro-backed EURC stablecoin for round-the-clock transaction funding.

The new service has enabled network members to manage treasury flows outside traditional banking hours, including weekends and public holidays. EURC funding has been made available across Ethereum, Solana, Base and Stellar.

Issued by a regulated Circle affiliate, EURC has been designed to maintain a 1:1 value with the euro and comply with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. The launch has expanded Thunes’ existing relationship with Circle, which has already included USDC-powered liquidity on the network since 2024.

Chloé Mayenobe, Deputy CEO of Thunes, said: “Integrating EURC prefunding is a natural evolution of our vision to seamlessly bridge traditional fiat with the digital asset economy.”

Thunes has said the service has been aimed at FinTechs, neobanks, payment service providers and gig economy platforms seeking greater flexibility in managing cross-border payment liquidity.

The payments company has connected digital assets with more than 90 fiat currencies through its global payment network. The latest expansion has therefore added euro-denominated stablecoin liquidity to its existing cross-border payments infrastructure.

Kash Razzaghi, Chief Commercial Officer at Circle, said: “Thunes is building the kind of global payment infrastructure that can translate stablecoin utility into real business value.”

The launch has highlighted the growing use of stablecoins for treasury management and cross-border payment operations, as financial technology providers have sought alternatives to conventional banking rails for moving and funding value around the clock.

Thunes has positioned EURC funding as part of its broader strategy to connect traditional fiat payments with digital assets while providing network members with faster and more flexible liquidity management.
