Zurich Kotak General Insurance (ZKGI) has introduced a digital insurance proposition to simplify insurance access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), enabling businesses to obtain customised coverage through a single platform.

The insurer said SMEs can purchase its Business Secure Plus policy in just a few steps, with policy issuance completed within minutes. The solution is designed to provide tailored coverage and premiums aligned with a business’s specific risk profile while streamlining the insurance purchase process.

The offering is powered by Zurich Edge, Zurich’s modular technology platform, which supports the entire insurance journey through a unified interface.

Birendra Mohanty, chief business officer, Zurich Kotak General Insurance, said, “SMEs are India’s growth engine, and they should be able to navigate risks seamlessly, without insurance becoming a barrier to their progress.”

The platform covers quotation, policy purchase, servicing, referrals and underwriting, helping SMEs manage their insurance requirements more efficiently.

SMEs account for nearly 30% of India’s GDP and support millions of jobs across the country. However, insurance penetration within the segment remains limited, with businesses often facing challenges in managing protection against multiple risks through separate policies.

To address this gap, Business Secure Plus offers bundled protection that enables businesses to secure multiple covers under a single policy.

The solution includes protection for risks such as fire & special perils, burglary & housebreaking, electronic equipment, all risk, fidelity guarantee, directors & officers liability, employee compensation, and money and machinery breakdown, subject to applicable policy terms and conditions.

The proposition will continue to evolve with additional products, enhanced coverage options, risk management solutions and new technology capabilities. Through Zurich Edge, the insurer aims to deliver more personalised offerings and contextual coverage for SMEs while supporting long-term customer engagement and business resilience.
