German IT security solutions provider Utimaco has announced Hacan Tiwemark as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Tiwemark is a long-serving Solutions and Services professional who previously served as Utimaco’s Vice President of Professional Service and Solutions.

The appointment comes as Utimaco aims to expand its Solution-as-a-Service business in the coming years. Tiwemark will be a part of the execution strategy across all business units and will be charged with strengthening the service processes and service operations.

Tiwemark has held various management positions at Siemens Nixdorf, Siemens Business Services, and Wincor Nixdorf. Prior to joining Utimaco, he was Group Vice President, Global Head of Service Delivery & Operations at Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security.

Altogether, he has more than 25 years of experience in Solutions and Services, from Solution design, Solution Sales, System Integration, Managed Services, and operation of critical Cloud/ DC operations.

“I am hugely proud to have been chosen to lead this vital transition after what is a relatively short time at the company. Utimaco has arguably one of the most important tasks in the modern world, securing data, and throughout my career, I have been witness to the change from security being a one-off expense handled purely in-house to a practice that blurs the lines between what is inside and outside the company in terms of expertise and is, crucially, built on lasting relationships rather simply being supplier and client,” said Hacan Tiwemark, COO at Utimaco.

Stefan Auerbach, CEO of Utimaco, said, “We are extremely pleased to welcome Hacan to our board during this time of exciting change at our company. We have seen him lead transformative change at many of our peers and in the past two years have greatly benefited from his leadership and insight. We are certain that he will be a major asset to the company as we transition to a service-based approach.”
