Tietoevry, Tietoevry Banking, Open Banking, FinTech, Handelsbanken, Open Finance, Apple Pay FinTech, Nordics, Norway, EuropeTietoevry Banking, a provider of modular software solutions for financial institutions, is joining the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN). This move is a key part of the bank’s international expansion agenda and ambition to modernise the banking industry through the adoption of global standards and multi-vendor collaborations.

With a focus on expanding its presence across Europe and other global markets, Tietoevry Banking has joined BIAN, an independent not-for-profit standards association. It also allows Tietoevry to participate in BIAN’s various working groups focused on payments, transaction banking, and lending. It offers a valuable opportunity to influence future standards and open new avenues for collaboration with other industry leaders.

“We are delighted to be a part of the BIAN community. We believe that the banking industry’s modernization journey is about integrating software capabilities around ecosystems that deliver real value to the end customer. Open Banking, Embedded Finance, and Banking as a Platform are key examples where multiple vendors, banks, and non-financial institutions collaborate to embed financial products into the customer experience. Over the years, BIAN has transformed to become a true standard for integrating software components, enabling the creation of new business models. BIAN provides a platform for banks to work with leading software vendors to develop future-proof, regulatory-compliant, and universally compatible banking services. This creates a fantastic framework for Tietoevry Banking’s API-based, modular services to integrate with other relevant industry players,” said Jon Bremnes, CIO at Tietoevry Banking.

Hans Tesselaar, Executive Director of BIAN, said, “We at BIAN are excited to welcome Tietoevry Banking as a member. As a key player in the Nordic banking solutions space, Tietoevry Banking has proven its commitment to the BIAN standard over the years, and we are sure that they will continue on this path.”

Tietoevry Banking’s membership in BIAN is also part of its strategy to position as a provider of software solutions in Europe.
