The agreement will last five years and is a renewal of a previous agreement. Central to the new agreement is the migration to a new and modern core banking solution that is modular and based on high-level APIs that make it easy for Handelsbanken to integrate with new solutions that support its channel strategy.

With 38 branches across Norway, Handelsbanken is one of the largest banks in the country.

“This is a large and important agreement that gives us predictability in both solutions and systems for the future, and we are very pleased that we now have a new agreement in place,” said Øystein Aulin, Director of Technology and Development at Handelsbanken.

“We are very proud to extend and renew our long-standing collaboration with Handelsbanken Norway. The agreement involves the use of digital solutions and modern technology that will support Handelsbanken’s strategy of providing safe, reliable, and user-friendly banking services to its customers. We will be migrating Handelsbanken Norway to our modernized technology platform, which will enable faster time-to-market for new services and provide greater efficiency and scalability. At the same time, we have high demands for safe and stable operation of the solutions,” added Klaus Andersen, CEO of Tietoevry Banking.
