Tax Star Raises $1.75m for UAE E-Invoicing Push
By Milan Rojan
Tax Star has raised $1.75 million in a seed funding round as the UAE tax technology provider has moved to expand its e-invoicing offering and broader compliance capabilities.
The funding round has been backed primarily by angel investors and has come after Tax Star received pre-approved Accredited Service Provider (ASP) status for the UAE’s e-invoicing framework.
Tax Star has developed AI-powered software for corporate tax compliance and has said the latest funding will support go-to-market expansion, product development and efforts to simplify e-invoicing compliance for businesses.
As a pre-approved ASP, Tax Star has been positioned to help businesses connect with the UAE Electronic Invoicing System as companies prepare for mandatory e-invoicing requirements. The company has said it plans to use the funding to strengthen its technology and support customers through the implementation process.
Rayhan Aleem, Co-founder and CEO of Tax Star, said: “This funding allows us to focus on what matters most right now: easing the compliance burden for businesses across the GCC as e-invoicing becomes a reality.”
Tax Star has also outlined plans to expand across the GCC, with the UAE market serving as a base for its wider regional strategy.
The company has said its platform integrates with accounting systems including Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho and Odoo. It has also participated in startup programmes including Plug and Play, Dubai Founders HQ and Microsoft for Startups.
The funding has been secured as UAE businesses prepare for upcoming e-invoicing deadlines. Businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more have an ASP appointment deadline of 30 October 2026, while the first mandatory implementation phase is scheduled for January 2027.
Tax Star has said the new capital will support its efforts to help businesses prepare for the regulatory transition and develop further compliance capabilities.
