super.money launches splitStore for flexible UPI checkout
By Milan Rojan
Indian FinTech super.money has launched splitStore, a commerce and credit offering that has enabled users to divide eligible purchases into multiple repayments directly through its UPI application.
The offering has been developed with regulated lending partners and has been integrated into the checkout journey. super.money has said customers have been able to access zero-interest and zero-fee repayment options, subject to eligibility and KYC verification.
splitStore has allowed users to browse products across categories including mobile phones, fashion, electronics, appliances, beauty, fitness, food, home and furniture. The platform has featured brands including Apple, Nike, Adidas, Marshall and Nothing, with product fulfilment supported by Flipkart’s delivery infrastructure, according to the company.
The FinTech has positioned the launch as an expansion of its UPI platform into commerce and embedded finance. It has said the service has been designed to provide consumers with greater payment flexibility while helping new-to-credit users establish a formal credit history through repayment behaviour.
Prakash Sikaria, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of super.money, has said the company has sought to combine UPI payments with access to credit within the checkout experience. He has added that the offering has been developed around affordability and responsible credit usage.
super.money has said splitStore has avoided a revolving credit model, with customers receiving defined repayment plans rather than an open-ended credit line. The company has also said the offering has not included processing or late-payment fees.
The service has initially been made available to a select group of users on the super.money app, with a broader rollout underway. The launch has marked the FinTech’s latest move to combine digital payments, credit and shopping within a single application as embedded finance has continued to expand across India’s digital commerce ecosystem.
