Saudi SaaS firm Rekaz raises $5m to digitise local SMEs across MENA
By Puja Sharma
Rekaz, a Saudi-based SaaS platform transforming operations for service businesses, has raised $5 million in seed funding to scale its product and accelerate expansion across the region. The round was led by COTU Ventures, with participation from Impact46, Shorooq Partners, Numrah Capital, and several angel investors.
Built specifically for service-sector SMEs—including gyms, salons, clinics, and mobile service providers—Rekaz offers an end-to-end operating system that replaces manual processes and disconnected tools with a streamlined, intelligent platform. Businesses can manage bookings, subscriptions, payments, and client relationships while also launching branded booking websites and mobile apps to grow their digital presence.
To date, over 7,000 businesses have used Rekaz to process more than 1 million appointments and subscriptions, demonstrating traction among both standalone outlets and growing multi-branch networks.
“Our mission is to do for service SMEs what Shopify did for e-commerce,” said Abdulrahman Alomran, CEO and co-founder of Rekaz. “Most service providers still rely on spreadsheets and scattered apps. We’re building the infrastructure they’ve long needed—simplifying workflows and improving the customer experience.”
Rekaz combines a custom-built backend with AI-powered insights and personalised onboarding that adapts to different business types. This allows merchants to get started quickly and manage operations more efficiently with fewer moving parts.
“Rekaz is solving a massive, underserved challenge,” said Amir Farha, General Partner at COTU Ventures. “Service businesses are the economic backbone of the region but have largely been ignored by traditional software. Rekaz is arriving at exactly the right moment with the right product.”
Abdulaziz Alkharashi, CTO and co-founder, added: “Our platform is built to be intelligent, adaptable, and deeply aligned with how service businesses actually operate day to day.”
Backing the broader regional potential, Yousef Albabtain, Partner at Shorooq Partners, commented: “Rekaz is a game-changer for the MENA service economy. It brings digitisation, operational efficiency, and data-driven growth to thousands of businesses previously left behind. We see Rekaz becoming the foundational software layer for service-based SMEs across the region.”
The company will use the funding to enhance product development, strengthen its AI and payments capabilities, and scale its footprint across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and broader MENA markets.
