Revolut enters Ukraine, launches special edition Clear Sky card
By Gloria Methri
Revolut has officially launched its services in Ukraine, enabling residents to open European Revolut accounts and access a range of innovative financial products. As part of the launch, the company is introducing the special-edition Clear Sky debit card.
Ukrainian residents can open a Revolut account and enjoy features such as instant, fee-free P2P transfers, competitive foreign exchange rates across 30+ currencies, and borderless money transfers worldwide.
Ukrainians can send and receive money from friends and family abroad without worrying about high transfer fees. Additionally, users will be able to order both virtual and physical debit cards for everyday transactions.
To ensure a secure onboarding process, Revolut has partnered with Diia, Ukraine’s e-government platform, making account verification simple and reliable.
Over 700,000 Ukrainians residing in the UK and EEA already use Revolut’s services. Since 2022, the app has facilitated over €1 billion in transfers to the country, with the largest inflows coming from Germany, the UK, Ireland, Poland, and the Netherlands.
Revolut’s official launch further strengthens financial accessibility for Ukrainians, providing them with modern banking tools to manage their money efficiently.
As part of its expansion, Revolut is launching the Clear Sky VISA debit card. The card is available to order for customers in Ukraine, the UK, and the EEA. While UK and EEA customers must donate a minimum of €/£5 to unlock the card, Ukrainian customers can order it without donating.
Vlad Yatsenko, Co-founder & CTO of Revolut, stated, “A record number of Ukrainians have joined our waiting list to get their Revolut account. Interest in digital banking is soaring across the CEE region, and today’s launch marks a key milestone in expanding financial access for Ukrainians.”
Dmytro Strelchuk, Revolut’s Head of New Markets Launch, added, “We are delighted that Revolut will now allow Ukrainians to open European bank accounts, facilitating instant and free global transfers to support their families back home.”
Revolut’s services for Ukrainian residents will be provided by Revolut Bank UAB, based in Lithuania and supervised by the European Central Bank and Bank of Lithuania. With this launch, Revolut aims to redefine digital banking for Ukrainians, offering seamless financial solutions and a meaningful way to contribute to the country’s recovery.
