Revolut Business enables UK merchants to accept American Express
By Gloria Methri
Revolut has enabled its business merchants in the UK to accept American Express Cards as a payment method for eCommerce, including through Revolut Gateway, Payment Links, and Tap to Pay on iPhone payments. More in-person payment solutions will follow later this year.
Through this partnership, Revolut merchants gain access to American Express’ higher-spending, premium customers. The move supports the growth of the AmEx merchant network in the UK and represents an added revenue stream for Revolut Business.
With the addition of American Express, Revolut Business now offers seven payment methods for merchants at their checkout. This is the next step in Revolut’s mission to help merchants maximise payment acceptance tools to speed up sales, boost loyalty, and grow their businesses.
By accepting AmEx payments, merchants have access to all the perks associated with using the Revolut Business account, including great payment acceptance rates, quick payments, competitive currency conversions, and international spending within their accounts.
Alex Codina, General Manager of Merchant Acquisition at Revolut Business, said, “Customers are valuing the freedom to use their preferred payment methods more than ever before. Businesses accessing a wide array of payment methods through Revolut Business can create seamless experiences for their customers, fostering loyalty and encouraging repeat business. It’s why we are so excited to offer access to cost-effective and secure American Express payments through our platform, helping our merchants expand and capture new audiences.”
Dan Edelman, General Manager of UK Merchant Services at American Express, added, “Revolut Business will enable yet more businesses across the UK to benefit from welcoming loyal and high-spending AmEx Cardmembers and offering an improved payment experience to their customers.”
Revolut is a global financial super app for businesses, helping start-ups, scale-ups, and enterprises accept and make payments globally, exchange money at great rates and manage their spending. Launched in 2017, today, millions of businesses rely on this platform to run their businesses and as a platform for growth.
