POP has launched POPchop, a Pay-in-3 offering in partnership with LazyPay, enabling eligible users to split purchases on POPshop into three monthly payments with no upfront payment and no hidden charges.

The new service marks POP’s entry into the embedded credit space as it looks to extend its ecosystem beyond UPI payments, rewards and commerce. The company said a majority of its users are eligible for POPchop, while around 40% of early users are accessing formal credit for the first time.

Available through POPshop, the offering is designed to give younger consumers greater flexibility in managing spending by allowing them to spread payments over three months instead of paying the full amount at checkout.

Ankit Nahata, Business Head at LazyPay, said, “Our partnership with POP brings together POP’s strong engagement among digitally native consumers with LazyPay’s experience in delivering convenient, digital credit solutions. By enabling Pay-in-3 within POPshop, we are making flexible credit more seamlessly accessible at the point of purchase, while maintaining a focus on responsible usage and transparency.”

POPchop is being offered through partnerships with regulated lending institutions, including PayU Finance India Private Limited, with LazyPay serving as a key partner. The company said additional lending partners are expected to join the platform over time. Credit eligibility, limits and underwriting decisions remain the responsibility of the lending partners.

The product has recorded strong early traction, with nearly 20% of POPshop orders being placed through POPchop during its limited rollout period. POP also said that 60% of POPchop users returned to shop again the following month, with many using the service for higher-value purchases and better budget management.

The launch builds on existing engagement across the POP platform, where UPI retention stands at 94%. The company also reported that around 42% of users redeem POPcoins within a 90-day period, while a significant share of POPshop customers make repeat purchases.

Bhargav Errangi, founder of POP, said, “Two in five of our early POPchop users are accessing credit for the first time, which makes transparency and responsible usage especially important. By bringing flexible credit into a platform where young consumers already pay, earn rewards and shop, we want to give them greater control over how they manage their money.”
