Perpay partners with Marqeta to launch flexible, paycheck-linked credit card
By Gloria Methri
Marqeta, the global modern card issuing platform, has been selected by Perpay to power its new unsecured credit card, issued by Celtic Bank. Designed to help consumers build or improve their credit, the Perpay Credit Card links directly to users’ paychecks, automating repayments to support responsible financial behaviour.
Perpay migrated to Marqeta’s modern credit card platform to scale its offering and provide a seamless, digital-first user experience. With Marqeta, Perpay can instantly issue virtual and tokenised cards, gain real-time spend insights, and customise every touchpoint—from application to account management—while maintaining complete control of the customer journey.
“Perpay is on a mission to help people access vital spending power and build credit, and we needed an issuing partner who could keep pace,” said Chris DiMarco, CEO of Perpay. “By migrating our credit card offering to Marqeta, we are delivering a smoother, more personalised experience that scales with our growth and gives customers the flexibility they deserve.”
Marqeta’s all-in-one credit platform also allows Perpay to tap into advanced card controls and flexible rewards infrastructure. This enables Perpay to personalise rewards based on user behaviour, incentivise spending within its marketplace, and deepen engagement.
The partnership marks a step forward in delivering innovative, embedded credit experiences that meet evolving consumer expectations, particularly those seeking tools to improve financial wellness through automation and transparency.
“The Perpay Credit Card stands out as a noteworthy example of how Marqeta makes it possible to craft a credit card to meet consumer needs meticulously,” said Todd Pollak, Chief Revenue Officer of Marqeta. “By tapping into the full potential of our credit platform, Perpay is able to customise its credit card experience and expand its offering to deliver greater value to its customers.”
