Montran enables MyUPI, Tap & Pay and Contextual EMI
By Divya Shah
Montran India has enabled a range of new Unified Payments Interface (UPI) capabilities, including MyUPI, UPI Tap & Pay and Contextual EMI, through its UPI Issuer Switch, helping banks operationalise innovations.
The financial infrastructure technology provider said the enhancements are designed to help banks deliver richer payment experiences while maintaining the reliability and resilience required for large-scale payment operations.
Formerly known as UPI Help 2.0, MyUPI provides users with a consolidated view of their transaction history and mandate information across multiple UPI applications. The solution also supports transaction replay, payee-context information, user controls and automated chargeback processing.
Montran’s UPI Issuer Switch is compliant with the National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) UnDispute and Issue Resolution (UDIR) guidelines, enabling banks to streamline dispute handling and grievance management processes.
The company has also enabled UPI Tap & Pay, allowing customers to make payments at compatible point-of-sale (POS) terminals using NFC-enabled smartphones. According to Montran, it collaborated with NPCI and banking partners to complete solution design, customisation and certification requirements within 30 to 45 days following NPCI-led proof-of-concept initiatives.
In addition, Montran has integrated Contextual EMI within its existing contextual payment framework. The feature enables customers to view and select eligible equated monthly instalment (EMI) options directly within the payment journey. The solution has already been deployed by two major commercial banks.
Julie Esca, CEO of Montran India, said, “The pace of innovation across UPI continues to accelerate, and banks need infrastructure that allows them to adopt new capabilities quickly without compromising the reliability and resilience expected from critical payment systems.”
She added that Montran’s collaboration with NPCI and banking partners is helping translate new UPI innovations into real-world customer services, while enabling banks to innovate confidently as the payments ecosystem evolves.
As UPI expands beyond payment processing towards more integrated and personalised customer experiences, Montran said its UPI Issuer Switch will continue to support banks in adopting emerging capabilities while remaining seamlessly connected to the broader UPI ecosystem.
