By IBS Intelligence
More than 300 delegates participated in the Fintech Europe Summit 2022, a 5-hour long virtual event organised by Point To Business Services on May 31st to discuss the latest advancements in the FinTech industry in the European region.
The summit covered topics such as the future of banking, digital payments, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, DeFi, gender equality in FinTech and many more.
The event saw the participation of IBS Intelligence as a research partner and other influential players in the industry like Abacus Financials, Worldline Financial Services, CoinPedia, PaySpace Magazine, PCN, Czech Fintech Association and Spanish Startups.
Throughout the seven keynote presentations and three interactive panel discussions run by FinTech leaders from across Europe, the focus was on the digital transformation happening in the banking and financial services sector, the surge of crypto and the need for a more inclusive and diverse workforce in the industry.
IBS Intelligence’s Managing Editor Robin Amlot moderated a conversation on the future of payments which explored some of the major trends in the space.
“The emergence of digital currency, like that of driverless cars, is just about inevitable. It’s likely to make life cheaper, easier, and more convenient- but it will also present technical and ethical challenges which must be met,” said Dr Martha Boeckenfeld, Advisory Board Member at GenTwo, who was one of the speakers on the panel.
Another highlight of the event was the ‘Wonder Women in FinTech’ panel discussion, which was moderated by IBS Intelligence’s Reporter Gaia Lamperti, and addressed some of the industry’s most pressing issues such as retention of female talent, equal opportunities and representation across the board.
Nadia Edwards-Dashti, Co-founder of FinTech recruitment agency Harrington Starr and one of the panel speakers, commented: “Thank you to Point To Business Services for bringing together such a great panel. I am super inspired by my fellow panellists and hosts and can’t wait to do more in the world of Inclusion in the Financial Technology space. I hope to partner again to drive forward our attention to talent, people investment, parity and inclusion for all.”
