Duco clients cut reconciliation workload by 76% using agentic AI

Duco, a provider of automation and reconciliation technology for financial services, has announced the results of its Pacesetters programme, revealing that participating clients reduced the time spent on manual reconciliation operations by an average of 76% using the company’s Agentic Workspace during production trials.
Launched in June, the programme brought together a group of 12 clients to evaluate the impact of agentic AI on operational processes. Across a range of manual reconciliation tasks, participants recorded significant efficiency gains, including a 91% reduction in time required to build processes, an 84% decrease in optimisation efforts, and more than 73% savings in break management and investigation workflows.
Duco said its Agentic Workspace is now available to both new and existing customers. The solution provides agentic access to Duco’s rule-based reconciliation platform through its user interface, while also supporting integration through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling firms to access the platform using their own AI agents in a headless environment.
Christian Nentwich, CEO of Duco, said, “We believe that operations departments will move from heavy task based work to mainly decision making in a short period of time, using agentic AI. With agentic workspace, and through the headless model, clients get the best of both worlds. Duco’s proven rule-based platform keeps data processes predictable, repeatable and transparent, while agentic AI determines what needs doing and acts. Operations teams move from data wrangling to the judgement calls that matter most. This is revolutionising post trade operations. That’s not just what we think, but what we’re seeing, and what our clients are telling us.”
Among the organisations participating in the programme was CIBC Mellon, which highlighted the technology’s potential to reshape operational workflows.
Jeremy Hulme, Vice President, Operational Excellence & Transformation, Client Service Delivery at CIBC Mellon, said: “What excites us about Agentic Workspace is its potential to help organizations move beyond task-based automation and rethink how operational work gets done. By combining operational expertise with agentic capabilities, we see an opportunity to reduce time spent on manual activity and give teams more capacity to focus on problem-solving, decision-making and continuous improvement.”
The findings reflect growing interest across the financial services sector in using agentic AI to automate complex operational processes while enabling teams to focus on higher-value decision-making activities.
