Coinbase welcomes Kelly Kramer, former CFO of Cisco to its Board

California-based Coinbase, provider of a digital currency wallet and platform has announced the joining of Kelly Kramer to the Coinbase Board of Directors and transitioning of Marc Andreessen, co-founder and general partner at Andreessen Horowitz from Board Observer to Board Director. Kelly will be replacing Chris Dodds as the Chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee. 

Kelly Kramer joins the Coinbase Board of Directors following a 9-year tenure at Cisco, where she spent the last 6 years serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this role, she was responsible for managing the company’s financial strategy and overseeing all financial functions, acquisition program, integrations, corporate development, and investor relations for the $49 bn revenue company with more than 76,000 employees. She brings in a wealth of experience in financial planning and analysis, and mergers and acquisitions, among other areas, to her role as Chairperson of Coinbase’s Audit and Compliance Committee.

Prior to Cisco, Kelly was CFO of GE Healthcare Systems. During her 20 years with General Electric, she held other CFO roles including CFO of GE Healthcare Biosciences and worked in GE’s corporate headquarters, and Transportation Systems and Aerospace divisions. Currently, Kelly also sits on the Boards of Directors of cloud data company Snowflake, as well as Gilead Sciences, a biotechnology company. She serves on the Audit Committee for Snowflake and as the Chair of the Audit Committee for Gilead Sciences.

Kramer holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Purdue University and received the Purdue University College of Science Distinguished Alumni award in 2017.

Founded in 2012, Coinbase’s mission is to create an open financial system for the world. It is a digital currency wallet and platform where merchants and consumers can transact new digital currencies like bitcoin, ethereum, and litecoin. Coinbase Card is now available to customers in nearly 30 countries, including the UK and across Europe. The rewards program will be initially available to customers in the US.
