Assent has acquired German product compliance software provider IPOINT, expanding its artificial intelligence (AI)-driven compliance and sustainability platform to help manufacturers manage product lifecycle requirements and evolving global regulations.

Michael Southworth, Chief Executive Officer of Assent, said: “By combining Assent’s supply chain compliance and product compliance capabilities with IPOINT’s material intelligence and lifecycle assessment expertise, and applying AI across that combined data, we can give manufacturers and distributors a faster, unified view on a single platform.”

The acquisition, Assent’s first since its founding, has combined the company’s supply chain compliance capabilities with IPOINT’s expertise in lifecycle assessment (LCA), material intelligence and product stewardship. The combined platform was designed to provide manufacturers and distributors with a unified view of product compliance, sustainability performance and environmental impact throughout a product’s lifecycle.

The transaction has also strengthened Assent’s presence in the European automotive sector, where IPOINT has established relationships with automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers.

Peter Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer of IPOINT, said: “Joining Assent means our combined data and AI capabilities can deliver compliance and sustainability insights even faster, while giving customers access to a global supply chain compliance platform and supplier network.”

Assent said integrating the two companies’ data capabilities will enable customers to apply AI to product and supplier information more effectively, helping manufacturers obtain compliance and sustainability insights faster while reducing reliance on multiple systems.

Assent customers will gain access to IPOINT’s lifecycle assessment, material compliance and product carbon footprint capabilities, while IPOINT customers will benefit from Assent’s global supplier network, regulatory expertise and supply chain compliance platform.

The acquisition has reflected growing demand for AI-enabled compliance technologies as manufacturers prepare for increasingly complex sustainability reporting and product transparency requirements across global markets.
