Artea Bank has integrated BPC’s SmartVista, a cloud-native, microservices-based platform designed to redefine card issuing in the digital era.

This strategic move marks a significant milestone in Artea Bank’s digital transformation journey, positioning the institution to deliver faster, more secure, and customer-centric payment experiences. By adopting SmartVista in a full Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, the bank gains the ability to support Mastercard debit and credit products, enable tokenisation for Apple Pay and Google Pay, and deploy advanced real-time fraud management solutions. The new infrastructure will empower Artea Bank to instantly issue more than a quarter of a million cards while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency at scale.

In selecting a technology partner, Artea Bank prioritised the need to accelerate time-to-market for new card products, while aligning with European regulatory standards and preparing for future cross-border expansion. With a robust API-first architecture, SmartVista seamlessly integrates with the bank’s existing systems and third-party ecosystems, creating a modular, future-ready foundation for both digital and physical card programmes.

The platform’s rich suite of capabilities enables Artea Bank to achieve near-zero downtime, ensuring international compliance with PSD2, RTS, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and DORA, while facilitating the rapid onboarding of new partners across the Baltic region. Tokenisation, fraud analytics, and open API connectivity further enhance security and interoperability, ensuring a seamless digital payments journey for customers.

Andrius Kamarauskas, Director of Strategic Technologies Development Department at Artea Bank, said, “With BPC SmartVista platform in place, Artea Bankas is set to accelerate its digital strategy, introduce additional card schemes, and extend its services to new market segments, reinforcing its role as a front-runner in Lithuania. We can now bring new products to market faster, meet stringent compliance demands, and give our customers the seamless digital experience they expect.”

Peter Theunis, SVP Sales, BPC, said, “Artea Bank wanted a proven, cloud-ready platform that could scale with ambition and regulation alike. SmartVista’s modular, advanced features deliver exactly that. We’ve provided technology that will help the bank innovate at speed and drive modern payment experiences across Lithuania.”
