American Express partners with Venmo & PayPal to introduce Send & SplitAmerican Express has announced the introduction of Amex Send & Split with PayPal and Venmo to make it easier for card members to send money and split purchases with family and friends.

Eligible U.S. Consumer Card Members can now leverage Send & Split to send money to any other PayPal or Venmo customer without paying a fee from their American Express App. The solution gives users more flexibility in how to send money. Additionally, cardmembers can also split their purchases with PayPal and Venmo customers and get paid back directly to their Card.

To start sending money and splitting purchases, users have to download the American Express App and enroll in Send & Split. Once enrolled in Send & Split, an Amex Send Account is set up automatically for the user. There is no need to link a bank account or reach for cash.

With Amex Split, users can choose any pending or posted purchase that they would like to split. The new functionality will split up the purchase amount evenly, or users can adjust the individual portions, so everyone is requested to pay just their portion. Once the user selects a purchase to Split, he has to select the contacts to request to Split with. Users can choose to get paid back as a statement credit to your Card account (a Split credit) or to linked Venmo or PayPal account. Users can also track those requests in the Amex App to see who’s paid back (and who hasn’t) providing a consolidated view of user’s spending and splitting.

Amex Send & Split works seamlessly, whether paying family back for a group gift or splitting expenses with a friend through PayPal or Venmo. It is available for iOS and Android only. PayPal may charge a fee when sending to non-US recipients.

Established since 1850, American Express is a global services company, providing customers with exceptional access to products, insights, and experiences that enrich lives and build business success.
