ABN AMRO extends Infosys partnership for AI and IT upgrade
By Divya Shah
ABN AMRO extended its strategic partnership with Infosys to accelerate the bank’s AI-driven transformation and modernise its technology infrastructure.
Under the renewed agreement, Infosys was engaged to provide application development, testing, and support services aimed at simplifying and modernising ABN AMRO’s IT landscape. The initiative was designed to improve operational efficiency, increase scalability, and support innovation across the bank.
The collaboration was expanded to move beyond individual AI projects and support wider enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence. Through Infosys Topaz, the company’s AI-first suite of solutions powered by generative and agentic AI technologies, ABN AMRO was enabled to integrate AI more deeply into its operations and technology environment, helping transform data into actionable business insights.
Carsten Bittner, Chief Innovation and Technology Officer at ABN AMRO, said the renewed partnership would help simplify and modernise the bank’s technology landscape while speeding up the responsible adoption of AI. He added that the initiative was expected to improve operational efficiency, deliver greater value to customers, reduce complexity, and lower operating costs.
As part of the engagement, platforms were streamlined, agility was enhanced, and digital service delivery capabilities were strengthened across the organisation.
Infosys was also expected to help the bank achieve faster business outcomes through its global engineering expertise and alternative delivery models. The partnership was intended to create a scalable, secure, and future-ready technology foundation that supports long-term innovation.
Jay Nair, EVP and Industry Head, Financial Services and Public Sector at Infosys, said the renewal represented an important milestone in the long-standing relationship between the two organisations. He noted that Infosys would combine its financial services expertise, global delivery capabilities, and Infosys Topaz platform to help ABN AMRO modernise core systems, simplify complex IT environments, and implement AI at scale in a sustainable and efficient manner.
