Why it matters: The partnership reflects the increasing collaboration between banks and FinTech firms to accelerate digital payment adoption. It highlights the growing importance of secure payment infrastructure, merchant-focused solutions and embedded financial services in expanding India’s digital economy.

MOS Utility Limited, a B2B2C digital FinTech and e-commerce company, partnered with Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited to facilitate digital payment services and support merchant adoption of digital transactions.

The partnership forms part of MOS Utility’s broader strategy to expand its presence in technology-driven financial services. Through the collaboration, the company aims to deliver seamless and efficient payment solutions by leveraging its technology capabilities, payment infrastructure and extensive merchant network.

The initiative is expected to help businesses access digital payment services more easily while supporting the growing demand for faster and more efficient payment experiences across India’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

Atish Shelar, Group CEO of MOS Utility Limited, said, “This alliance brings together banking expertise and technology capabilities, creating opportunities to make digital payments more accessible and efficient for businesses. We see this collaboration as an important step towards addressing the growing needs of merchants and enabling them to participate more actively in India’s expanding digital economy.”

The collaboration aligns with MOS Utility’s focus on building scalable payment solutions that address the changing operational and transaction requirements of merchants and businesses.

The company believes partnerships between financial institutions and FinTech firms can help accelerate digital payment adoption while creating a more connected payments ecosystem.

Chirag Shah, Chairman and Founder of MOS Utility Limited, said, “We believe that collaborations between banks and FinTech platforms are key to building a more connected payments ecosystem and enabling merchants to adopt digital solutions with greater ease and confidence. Through partnerships such as this, we aim to support greater merchant adoption of digital payments and contribute to a more connected and digitally enabled economy.”

Alongside expanding its payments business, MOS Utility said it is continuing to strengthen the security and reliability of its payment infrastructure. The company has implemented risk management mechanisms and monitoring engines designed to identify, assess and mitigate transaction risks in real time.

These capabilities are expected to support fraud prevention efforts, improve transaction oversight and provide a more resilient and secure digital payment environment for merchants and customers.

The partnership highlights a growing trend in India’s financial services sector, where banks and FinTech companies are increasingly collaborating to broaden access to digital financial services and enhance payment experiences for businesses across the country.
