SBI appoints Deepak Kaushik as Bengaluru Circle Chief
By Divya Shah
State Bank of India (SBI) appointed Deepak Kaushik as Chief General Manager (CGM) of its Bengaluru Circle, placing him in charge of the bank’s operations across Karnataka.
Kaushik assumed the role after serving as SBI’s Country Head for East Asia based in Hong Kong, where he oversaw the bank’s international banking operations and strategic business initiatives across the region.
The Bengaluru Circle is one of SBI’s largest operational networks, with 1,573 branches across Karnataka. As the bank’s second-largest circle by total business, it represents a significant portion of SBI’s domestic operations and customer base.
In his new position, Kaushik will oversee the circle’s branch network, business growth and customer operations across the state. His appointment brings international banking and cross-border business experience to SBI’s Karnataka leadership team.
The move comes as SBI continues to strengthen its presence in Bengaluru, including through the establishment of its Global Capability Centre, reinforcing the city’s growing importance as a banking, technology and innovation hub.
Kaushik will also be responsible for executing SBI’s strategic priorities in Karnataka, one of India’s key banking and technology markets, while supporting the bank’s expansion and digital transformation initiatives across the region.
