Global FinTech platform Pine Labs has appointed Jayaram Karthik as its Chief Operations Officer (COO), strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to scale operations across international markets.
In his new role, Karthik will oversee operations and merchant experience across India and the company’s international businesses. He will focus on building technology-enabled operating models aimed at delivering seamless, trusted and locally relevant experiences for merchants across the Pine Labs ecosystem.
Karthik brings more than 25 years of experience spanning operations, risk management, analytics and technology. Throughout his career, he has led large-scale operational transformation initiatives and business scaling efforts across several global organisations.
Jayaram Karthik, Chief Operations Officer at Pine Labs, said, “The next competitive advantage in FinTech will come from turning complexity into simplicity for customers. That requires a strong combination of technology, operations and experience to work as one. Pine Labs has built an impressive global business, and I look forward to helping scale the operational foundation that will enable the company to grow faster, serve customers better and build lasting trust across markets.”
Before joining Pine Labs, he held leadership roles at American Express, Citibank, Amazon, Tata and Razorpay, where he was responsible for strengthening operating models and standardising end-to-end merchant journeys.
B Amrish Rau, CEO of Pine Labs, said, “Today, Pine Labs operates across more than 20 countries and building a unified operational excellence model is now central to how we scale that footprint. Jayaram’s deep expertise in streamlining complex operating processes for high-growth businesses will help us strengthen the foundation required for our next phase of global growth.”
The appointment highlights Pine Labs’ focus on building a globally scalable operating framework that supports customer experience, operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
As the FinTech expands its international presence, the company aims to combine innovation, operational excellence and regulatory compliance to better serve businesses across markets.
