Thomaston Savings Bank upgrades ATM network
By Milan Rojan
Thomaston Savings Bank has selected Diebold Nixdorf to modernise its self-service banking network with new ATMs, software and managed services across its operations in Connecticut.
Patryk Krakowski, Vice President and Regional Manager at Thomaston Savings Bank, said: “Together, we’re creating a more connected omnichannel experience that gives our clients greater flexibility in how they bank while providing a more consistent experience.”
The community bank has begun upgrading its self-service infrastructure with Diebold Nixdorf’s DN Series ATMs and latest terminal application software. The agreement has also included managed services designed to support the availability and performance of the bank’s ATM network.
Chad Buckland, Senior Vice President, North America Banking at Diebold Nixdorf, said: “Financial institutions are strategically evolving the role of the ATM channel as part of a broader, connected banking experience.”
Diebold Nixdorf has been monitoring Thomaston Savings Bank’s ATM network around the clock, with its services supported by DN AllConnect Data Engine. The platform has used artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to aggregate and analyse ATM data in real time, helping identify potential issues, support incident resolution and optimise cash levels.
The bank has also announced plans to move towards Diebold Nixdorf’s Branch Automation Solutions as part of its wider self-service strategy. Future capabilities under consideration have included tap-to-pay, QR-enabled transactions, enhanced deposit automation, cash recycling and video-assisted banking.
The upgrades have been positioned as an extension of Thomaston Savings Bank’s existing digital and branch services, rather than a replacement for its in-person model. The bank has said the strategy is intended to give customers greater flexibility while maintaining its community-focused approach.
The deployment has highlighted the continued integration of AI, analytics and connected self-service technologies within branch and ATM infrastructure as banks seek to improve availability and operational efficiency.
