TrueDoc Targets Document Fraud in Digital Finance
By Milan Rojan
Toronto-based TrueDoc has launched a document forensics platform designed to help financial institutions detect manipulated documents used in digital onboarding, lending and compliance processes.
The Canadian company has said its platform has analysed bank statements, payslips, tax records, invoices, identity documents, PDFs and screenshots to identify signs of tampering. Rather than replacing identity verification or Know Your Customer (KYC) systems, the solution has been developed to complement existing fraud prevention and lending workflows by assessing the authenticity of supporting documents.
According to the company, the platform has examined multiple layers of forensic evidence, including PDF structures, metadata, mathematical inconsistencies, visual alterations, screenshot indicators and differences between embedded text and rendered content. It then generates a report highlighting potential risks and the reasons why a document may require further review.
Andrii Patiutka, Founder and CEO of TrueDoc, said: “A realistic paystub, bank statement, invoice or identity document once required design skills, specialized software and a considerable amount of time. Today, a professional-looking document can be created or altered in minutes and reproduced at scale
The company has stated that customers receive a trust assessment, risk rating and forensic findings within around 120 seconds of uploading a document through its hosted platform. It has added that original documents are deleted after analysis, while only a redacted forensic report is retained to minimise the storage of sensitive financial and identity information.
TrueDoc has reported that it began development in October 2025, received its first paying customer in May 2026 and has since grown to 40 paying customers alongside 1,500 free users. The company has also said it is developing API integrations, batch-processing capabilities and webhook support to enable financial institutions to incorporate document analysis into onboarding, underwriting, claims and compliance workflows.
