Ajman Bank taps Cleareye.ai for AI trade finance compliance
By Milan Rojan
Ajman Bank has partnered with Cleareye.ai to enhance its trade finance operations by deploying an AI-powered platform designed to strengthen Trade-Based Money Laundering (TBML) controls and support compliance with evolving regulatory requirements in the UAE.
Anar Qasem, Vice President, MENA, Cleareye.ai, said: “Their approach reflects the ambition of a forward-thinking institution that recognises the strategic value of embedding structured compliance capabilities at the core of its operations. We are proud to support Ajman Bank as it continues to strengthen its position within the UAE’s evolving regulatory landscape.”
As part of the collaboration, the UAE-based Islamic bank has implemented Cleareye.ai’s ClearTrade platform to automate key trade finance workflows, including TBML screening and compliance checks. The deployment has been designed to improve risk detection by analysing trade transactions for anomalies across invoices, shipment data and counterparty information.
The partnership has reflected Ajman Bank’s broader strategy of investing in technology-led transformation while strengthening regulatory compliance, operational resilience and risk management.
Muhammed Iqtadar, Chief Compliance Officer at Ajman Bank, said: “The integration of Cleareye.ai’s ClearTrade platform has strengthened our capability to perform granular, transaction-level analysis, enabling more precise detection of anomalies, inconsistencies and potential red flags across trade documentation and customer profiles. This initiative has supported our commitment to proactive regulatory alignment while introducing greater standardisation, auditability and traceability across trade finance processes.”
The deployment has aligned with the bank’s objective of embedding intelligence-led compliance into its trade finance operations, supporting stronger governance, enhanced transparency and improved monitoring of financial crime risks while maintaining compliance with UAE regulatory expectations and international AML and sanctions standards.
