By Milan Rojan
Harris has acquired restaurant technology provider TouchBistro, strengthening its presence in the hospitality software market and expanding its portfolio of cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) and payment solutions.
Samir Zabeneh, former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TouchBistro, said: “Joining the Harris family marks an exciting new chapter, giving TouchBistro the scale, long-term support and expertise to build on its success and reach new heights.”
The acquisition has added TouchBistro’s restaurant management platform to Harris’ vertical market software business. TouchBistro provides an all-in-one POS and restaurant management system used by more than 16,000 restaurants across over 100 countries.
Designed specifically for the food and beverage sector, the platform has combined front-of-house and back-of-house operations with integrated payment processing, online ordering, reservations, loyalty programmes, labour management and inventory tools. The cloud-based system has enabled restaurants to manage operations through a single platform while improving efficiency and customer experience.
Jean-Pascal Gagnon, Portfolio Leader at Harris, said: “This acquisition strengthens Harris’ position in the restaurant technology market, further enriching an already diverse portfolio. By combining TouchBistro’s expertise with Harris’ long-term commitment to vertical market software, we are well positioned to deliver greater value to restaurant operators.”
The transaction has reinforced Harris’ strategy of expanding its software portfolio through acquisitions in specialised industry verticals. The company said the addition of TouchBistro will strengthen its restaurant technology offering and support continued innovation for hospitality businesses.
TouchBistro’s platform has supported restaurant operators through features including tableside ordering, floor plan management, reporting and customer engagement tools, alongside integrated digital payment capabilities.
The acquisition has reflected continued investment in restaurant technology as software providers seek to offer integrated commerce, payment and operational solutions that help hospitality businesses streamline workflows, improve customer engagement and support digital transformation across the sector.
