FinTech firm Sokin has partnered with Jumio to enhance the security and efficiency of its client onboarding process through artificial intelligence-based identity verification.

The collaboration will see Sokin integrate Jumio’s AI-powered identity solution, enabling customers to verify their identity by capturing a photo of a government-issued ID and a live selfie using their smartphones. The system uses certified liveness detection technology to confirm that the user is physically present and the submitted images are authentic, helping reduce fraud risks during onboarding.

Sokin, founded in 2019, offers subscription-based payment services and positions itself as a provider of fixed-price solutions designed to eliminate hidden fees in cross-border transactions. The company claims to be among the first to introduce a flat monthly fee for withdrawals to external bank accounts.

The integration is expected to streamline onboarding by reducing manual checks while maintaining high compliance standards across different regulatory environments. This is particularly important for fintech firms expanding into multiple markets where identity verification requirements vary.

Vroon Modgill, CEO of Sokin, said: “We want to be able to check and onboard everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible. Jumio offers best-in-class technology which complements our systems. This partnership enables us to work together.”

Robert Prigge, CEO of Jumio, added: “Our solutions are designed to help fintechs like Sokin develop and expand their services across different regulatory environments.”

The partnership reflects a broader trend in the fintech sector, where firms are increasingly adopting AI-driven identity verification tools to strengthen security, improve user experience, and support scalable growth.

By enhancing its onboarding capabilities, Sokin aims to deliver a faster and more secure customer journey while supporting its expansion in global payments services.
