Italian technology group TeamSystem has acquired Spanish software provider AIG Classic, strengthening its presence in Spain as part of its broader European expansion strategy.

AIG Classic specialises in management and accounting software for SMEs, micro-businesses and professionals. Founded in 1994 in Vigo, Galicia, the company reported revenues of more than €5.5 million in 2025 and serves over 34,000 customers with a team of approximately 55 employees.

The transaction deepens TeamSystem’s footprint in Spain, a market it views as strategically aligned with Italy’s entrepreneurial structure. Both countries are characterised by a high concentration of small and medium-sized enterprises and are undergoing regulatory-driven digital transformation, particularly in electronic invoicing.

Spain is preparing for the phased introduction of mandatory e-invoicing, beginning with the VeriFactu system in 2027 and moving towards broader B2B e-invoicing adoption by 2028. The regulatory shift mirrors Italy’s earlier transition to mandatory e-invoicing, a development that accelerated digital adoption among Italian SMEs and expanded demand for compliant business management platforms.

Against this backdrop, the acquisition positions TeamSystem to capitalise on regulatory convergence across Southern Europe. The group has been pursuing targeted investments in markets with similar SME ecosystems, aiming to build scale in business management and compliance software.

AIG Classic’s portfolio centres on two core products: ClassicGes, a business management platform spanning operational processes across the value chain, and ClassicConta, an accounting solution designed to streamline tax compliance and financial reporting. The company has established a long-standing customer base in the Iberian market, particularly among small and micro-enterprises navigating evolving regulatory requirements.

Santiago Viso and Edelmiro Gonzalez, founders of AIG Classic, said joining TeamSystem would support the continued development of their offerings. “This transaction represents an important recognition of the path we have taken and an opportunity to continue developing our solutions within a solid and well-structured Group,” they said.

TeamSystem was advised by Garrigues on legal and labour matters and by KPMG on financial and tax due diligence. Evergreen acted as legal advisor to AIG Classic and Tresmares.

The deal underscores continued consolidation in Europe’s SME software sector, as providers seek geographic expansion and regulatory alignment to capture growth linked to mandatory digital compliance frameworks.
