Castles Technology has been selected by Loomis Pay, the point-of-sale (POS) and digital payments division of cash management group Loomis, to provide Android-based payment devices as part of Loomis Pay’s European expansion strategy.
The partnership will see Loomis Pay deploy Castles Technology’s Android terminals across multiple European markets, beginning with Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Spain. The rollout follows a pilot programme in Norway earlier this year, where devices were deployed across 17 merchant locations.
The agreement reflects a broader shift in Europe’s payments landscape, where merchants are increasingly seeking integrated solutions that support cash, card and digital transactions within a single POS environment. By adopting Android-based terminals, Loomis Pay aims to offer greater flexibility, faster integration cycles and support for value-added applications through a more open device ecosystem.
Loomis Pay will deploy its POS and payment services on Castles Technology’s S1F4 Pro portable device, S1P2 PIN pad and S1U2M4 unattended terminal. The deployment also includes Castles’ CasHUB terminal management system (TMS) and Marketplace. Together, the hardware and software stack is designed to support secure transaction processing while enabling remote device management and application distribution at scale.
The companies worked alongside Finnish payment specialist Seitatech to develop the software suite powering the terminals and integrating them with Loomis Pay’s POS platform and payment gateway. The end-to-end solution was delivered within a few months, a timeline the companies described as a key factor in formalising the partnership.
Jean-Philippe Niedergang, Acting Group CEO and EMEA-PACIFIC-LATAM CEO at Castles Technology, said, “Our Android devices deliver the innovation, reliability, and agility required to lead in the fast-changing payments landscape. With Loomis Pay’s expertise, agility, and strategic growth plans, we are excited to be part of their journey,” he said.
For Loomis, traditionally associated with cash management services, the expansion of its digital POS and payment capabilities signals an ongoing diversification into integrated commerce solutions. For Castles Technology, the deal strengthens its footprint in the European Android payments segment, a market where demand for scalable, software-driven terminals continues to grow as merchants modernise legacy infrastructure.
With the initial rollout underway in the Nordics and Spain, the partnership positions both companies to compete in a European POS market increasingly defined by convergence between hardware, software and multi-channel payment acceptance.
