European card issuer and payment processor Enfuce has entered the Belgian and Luxembourg markets through a partnership with Belgian FinTech Monizze, part of the Up Group, to launch open-loop employee benefit cards in Luxembourg and hybrid closed- and open-loop cards in Belgium.

The move marks Monizze’s shift from closed-loop systems to both closed- and open-loop infrastructure, while representing Enfuce’s first live customers in the Benelux region. The collaboration leverages Enfuce’s modular platform, enabling real-time spend controls, fraud protection, and digital wallet integration, allowing employee benefits to be used seamlessly across a broad network of merchants, both online and in-store.

For Monizze, the transition to open-loop cards expands merchant eligibility across its employee benefits programs, offering greater flexibility for users. For Enfuce, the launch reinforces its European expansion strategy, following recent market entries in Brazil, Italy, and Germany.

“As open-loop solutions become mainstream in employee benefits, this launch demonstrates how quickly our platform can deploy new markets end-to-end—from compliance and issuing to digital wallets allowing customers to scale internationally without rebuilding infrastructure,” said Denise Johansson, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Enfuce.

“Together with Monizze, we’re helping redefine modern employee benefits by enabling flexible, inclusive, and scalable solutions for employers, merchants, and employees alike,” added Monika Liikamaa, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Enfuce.

Sébastien Couturiaux, CTIO of Monizze, noted, “We chose Enfuce for their proven ability to deliver large-scale open-loop migrations with speed, precision, and reliability. Their expertise gives us confidence in shaping the future of employee benefits together.”

The Enfuce–Monizze partnership signals a broader trend toward more intelligent and user-centric financial experiences in Europe’s employee benefits sector, highlighting the growing adoption of open-loop solutions across the continent.
