The transition marks a significant step in the bank’s efforts to modernise its retail banking operations and streamline customer services.

The Bosnian unit, which serves approximately 500,000 customers across retail, corporate, and SME segments, becomes the latest RBI subsidiary to implement the Temenos core banking solution, following previous deployments in Kosovo, Slovakia and Poland. Raiffeisen Bank dd Bosnia-Herzegovina is currently the country’s second-largest financial institution.

The upgrade involves the complete migration of current account operations to Temenos’ cloud-native core, which is deployed on Red Hat’s OpenShift hybrid cloud infrastructure. This setup is expected to increase operational agility, improve process automation, and support the bank’s long-term growth objectives.

Temenos’ API-first, flexible architecture is designed to facilitate faster time to market for new products and services. It also provides a consolidated foundation for adding future banking capabilities, positioning the institution to better respond to evolving customer needs and regulatory requirements.

Kreshnik Halili, Board Member for Operations and IT at Raiffeisen Bank dd Bosnia-Herzegovina, said, “This go-live with Temenos is an important part of Raiffeisen’s mission to transform continuous innovation into superior customer experience. Temenos’ modern, integrated core banking solution, which has already proven its worth in other parts of the RBI group, will give us increased efficiency and flexibility for our operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina. This will help us to drive continued growth in this important market, building on our leading position and strong reputation for innovation.”

The implementation was delivered in collaboration with systems integrator Tech Mahindra and Raiffeisen’s internal team, whose expertise in Temenos systems was instrumental in the rollout.

Mark Yamin-Ali, Managing Director for Europe at Temenos, said, “Congratulations to Raiffeisen Bank dd Bosnia-Herzegovina on this successful implementation. We are proud to build on our longstanding relationship with one of Austria’s largest banking groups, helping them bring the benefits of Temenos’ market-leading core banking solution to another European market. This success showcases Temenos’ strong delivery capability as we work to modernise financial institutions by building on the most trusted, industry-leading technology solutions.”
