Mastercard appoints Estanislau Bassols as Brazil Country Manager

Mastercard has announced the appointment of Estanislau Bassols as Country Manager for Mastercard Brazil, effective from February 15th. The move comes as part of the company’s continued investment in Brazil, one of it’s most important markets globally.

Bassols in this role will be responsible for further driving the company’s strategic vision, innovation and growth agenda and building on its successful purpose driven culture. He will report to João Pedro Paro Neto, President, Mastercard Brazil and the Southern Cone.

Prior to his appointment, Estanislau was CEO of SKY Brasil, where he played a critical role in the firm’s digital transformation journey and in creating new alliances and new business with a focus on growth and expansion. Bassols holds more than 16 years of senior executive experience, occupying positions as the VR Benefícios CEO, VR Board Member, and others in Strategic Planing, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Product Development at Telefónica. He also served on several boards including VR Beneficios, Great Place to Work, and Wine.

Estanislau Bassols holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of São Paulo; an MBA in Finance from IBMEC; an MBA in Business Management from FIA and a Global Executive MBA from the London School of Economics, the New York University, and HEC in Paris.
